The World 1931
They called it the “new world” and sure they were right, it was the beginning of something new.
The industrialization had been going on
for about 50 years now, 50 years of enslaving the humanity to build
the biggest, most effective poke ever, a box big enough to hold the
whole human race. I guess that from this perspective we where
nothing but a couple of refugees fleeing, not actually to anything
but from everything. Our search for freedom started, and in the beginning it seemed like
the sun would soon shine through for us. But our quest for freedom
could and would not be tolerated by the G, the warders of this new
world. In the spring of 1930, known as the “red spring”, it all
changed. The G-men stopped asking questions and from now on all we
would ever hear from them and the rollers were the sweet-sour song
of bullets pushing through the air, breathing down our necks.
The happy 20th had never seemed so far away and with the new corrupt
rollers and the G ratifying laws, that made the inquisition seem
like a day in the park, many of us started to lose our patience. The prohibition of liquor and
the G-arranged stock crash made everyone
more or less criminal and over 4000 ordinary Joe’s got
pinched in only 2 months for everything from jaywalking to going
bananas and ending up on a “killing spree”. The box was overcrowded
and you can imagine that the rollers didn’t hesitate much to play
street-judges. In this grey world where good and evil is all a big
blur people start to create their own heroes. Ironically the only
heroes that were left were the ones who stood against the G, the ones called gangsters.
And now for the first time we all meet, times
of war unite, and this time all the bosses from all the borgatas
gathered and made one final conclusion:

In a world of rules none is really free.
The planning was exquisite, we searched the whole world for the
perfect place to found a new city, a new world. And finally we found
it, a land so deserted that it made the moon seem like Wall Street
before the crash. We were the first people to ever set a footprint
in this land, but we sure wouldn’t be the last ones. Here would be a
city built by us, for us. A place for all people that value freedom
more than "G-order”.
It was ......... a GangsterHood.
